Land Use Plan Study Design Workshop

June 20

The next step of the Land Use Plan Study will be a drop-in design workshop at Town Hall. Come by on Tuesday, June 20th between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. 
Our Consultants with Inspire will be talking to the public about ideas for a Town Center Master Plan if one were to be proposed. This will be a conceptual exercise only, no plan is proposed at this time. It’s a continued conversation with the community and another opportunity to share your opinion on the future of Weddington.

2023 Municipal Candidate Filing

July 7 – July 21

The candidate filing period for the November 7, 2023 Municipal Elections begins at noon on Friday, July 7, and ends at noon on Friday, July 21, at the Union County Board of Elections, 316-B East Windsor Street, Monroe, NC 28112. The filing fee is $5 and must be paid by check, credit, or debit card. All contests are nonpartisan and no primary will be held. To be eligible to file for office, candidates must be 21 years old on Election Day and must be a registered voter residing within the municipal corporate limits.

Labor Day-Active Waste Closed

September 4

Active Waste Solutions will be closed on Monday, September 4th. There will be a one-day delay for trash collection. Residents will be serviced Tuesday the 5th through Saturday the 9th.

Independence Day-Active Waste Closed

July 4

There will be a one-day delay in trash collection for those typically serviced Tuesday through Friday. Trash will be collected Wednesday the 5th through Saturday the 8th.
