As soon as January 2025, New Town Road will be closed between Will Plyler Road and Waxhaw Indian Trail Road for an NCDOT bridge replacement project. Traffic will be detoured onto Will Plyler Road around the closed section of New Town Road. A temporary traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Will Plyler Road and Waxhaw Indian Trail Road during the closure to accommodate turning traffic at the intersection. The Public Hearing for a two-building office expansion located at 13700 Providence Road (the Polivka Property) will not be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, as required statutory notices were not delivered to adjoining properties as required by NC General Statute 160D-602.
The agenda will be amended at the meeting to remove this item and to add a pre-application presentation from The Rhama Center of Charlotte. The applicant will present the project and the public will be welcome to offer comment.
At the November meeting, the Weddington Town Council requested that staff repost the Request for Qualifications from engineering and design firms to create site plans and construction drawings for the town park. The deadline for responses is Wednesday, December 4th.
