William (Bill) Price passed away on August 8, 2020, at his home. He served as Mayor Pro Tem on the first elected Weddington Town Council in 1984 and was the first representative of District 4. He only served officially for a year, but he was a steward of the community and a major supporter for the town and residents, and a regular fixture at the Council meetings in the 30+ years since. He was a beloved resident of our town and his dedication to and advocacy for Weddington will be dearly missed.

The Western Union Municipal Alliance (WUMA) is an interlocal agreement among the towns of Weddington, Mineral Springs, and Stallings, and the villages of Wesley Chapel and Marvin to discuss regional planning, transportation, and other issues that are common to all the jurisdictions. They are collaborating to create and advocate for beneficial solutions for all. The first meeting will be held on Thursday 20 August at Weddington Town Hall at 3:30 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public.

Open Burning is allowed in the Town of Weddington. Since the Town does not provide yard waste removal services, it cannot prohibit burning yard waste. Please visit North Carolina Open Burning Regulations for the regulations set by the Division of Air Quality.  Visit our FAQ page for more answers on open burning.
