In coordination with the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization, Union County is opening a comment period on a series of 13 amendments to the Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP). The CTP is a regional transportation plan identifying transportation system improvements necessary to meet future mobility demands within the region. Union County is proposing to amend the network to remove or modify new road segments to incorporate environmental and community constraints, as well as to reflect network modifications due to the Monroe Expressway.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation and Turnpike Authority are hosting a preconstruction open house for the I-485 Express Lanes and corridor improvements. This meeting is an open house with no formal presentation. The purpose is to provide an opportunity to meet the project team before construction begins later this summer. The project team will answer questions and provide information relating to the project and construction schedule.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office provides residential security checks to citizens who plan to be away from their residence for an extended period of time, such as travel for vacations or business. This request can be made by calling the Sheriff’s Office Console at 704-283-3789.
