NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN COUNCIL MEETING - CLOSED SESSION
MONDAY, AUGUST 9, 2010 – 5:30 P.M.

There will be a Closed Session Meeting of the Weddington Town Council on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Weddington Town Hall, 1924 Weddington Road, Weddington, NC 28104 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is as follows:

• Consideration of Approval of April 12, 2010, May 10, 2010, June 14, 2010 and July 12, 2010 Closed Session Minutes
• NCGS 143-318.11 (a) (3) To consult with an attorney employed or retained by the public body in order to preserve the attorney client privilege between the attorney and the public body, which privilege is hereby acknowledged
• NCGS 143-318.11 (a) (5) To establish, or to instruct the public body's staff or negotiating agents concerning the position to be taken by or on behalf of the public body in negotiating (i) the price and other material terms of a contract or proposed contract for the acquisition of real property by purchase, option, exchange, or lease; or (ii) the amount of compensation and other material terms of an employment contract or proposed employment contract

CAROLINA THREAD TRAIL

The Town of Weddington along with Union County and eleven other Union County municipalities have selected the Trust for Public Land as the consultant for the Carolina Thread Trail Plan. The Carolina Thread Trail will connect more than two million citizens with hundreds of miles of pedestrian, equestrian and bicycle trails that wind through fifteen counties in North and South Carolina.

The Trust for Public Land will hold four Listening Sessions to garner input from citizens. These sessions will be held on July 19, 20, 21 and 22 in locations throughout Union County. The Town of Weddington will host a Listening Session at Weddington Swim and Racquet Club on Monday, July 19 at 6:00pm.
